Warning signs: how to spot a job or employment scam

  • You come across an advertisement, receive an email, SMS or WhatsApp message, letter or phone call offering you a guaranteed income or job.
  • A scammer purporting to be an agent or government contact with Ausidore contracts or relationships contacts you on a social media or job board platform:
    • Warning signs include a suspicious profile image, lack of genuine profile information, activity or contact details.
    • If in doubt ask the individual to send you an email from their Ausidore email address. An email from Ausidore will be sent from the official Ausidore domain e.g.
  • The message may claim to offer farm work with a working visa and path to permanent residency.
  • The message asks you to provide personal details or a fee for more information or expenses to secure the job or working visa.

Please note Ausidore will never ask a candidate for any form of direct payment and all email correspondence from Ausidiore will be sent from the official Ausidore domain e.g.

Protect Yourself:

  • Ask for references from other people who have done the work or used the product, and make the effort to speak to these people.
  • Send an email or message via the Ausidore website contact form to check the details.
  • Do not deal with an employer or company that does not have a street address, they can be difficult to contact or trace later on
  • Avoid any arrangement with a stranger that asks for up-front payment via money order, wire transfer, international funds transfer, pre-loaded card or electronic currency. It is rare to recover money sent this way.
  • Never agree to transfer money for someone else – this is money laundering and it is a criminal offence.
