After Sales Support and Relationships Key to Ausidore’s Customers’ Success in Indonesia.

Ausidore Managing Director, Jim Teasdale, returned from another successful trip to Indonesia this week where he spent valuable time with long term and new customers, and other supply chain operators.

When Jim started Ausidore a core principle, which is still written proudly on the wall in the company office is a commitment to share knowledge and provide channels for consistent feedback and continuous improvement throughout the supply chain.

“As a supplier of high quality breeding livestock, we recognise that the purchase of our animals is a long term and important investment for our customers and responsibility for their success should not stop when the animals are paid for or delivered.” Jim said.

“The sustainability of our business relies on our guarantee of quality and service that ensures the success of our customers. If they have a bad experience, not only is it bad for their business, but it reflects poorly on us. Breeding animals have an enduring positive(or negative) impact on the flocks and herds they are sent to improve. We intentionally print our company name on the tag of every animal we ship because we stand by our product. Our reputation, and the reputation of our customers is priceless – If the animals are not good enough to have our name attached to them, then we reject them – no matter the cost.”

During the week in Indonesia, Jim visited Jakarta, Bandung, Taskimalaya, Yogyakarta and Kediri to meet freight forwarders, importers, farmers and veterinarians. Although Indonesia is one of Australia’s nearest neighbours, the climate, geography and farming techniques are very different from most of Australia. But it is very clear that the attitudes,  care and commercial considerations are very much the same for farmers in both countries.

“I find we learn the most from each other having discussions around the feed bunks in the sheep and goat farms and over a meal with our supply chain partners. We have the opportunity to discuss feeding, health, handling and genetics. These informal discussions help to improve outcomes for the farmers and the livestock industry in Indonesia. The Australian farmers who supply the stock we export, also take a great interest and reward when we share the stories, photos and videos from farms in Indonesia who are now benefiting from their genetics.”

Some of the livestock that Ausidore exports to markets in South East Asia include, Saanen, Anglo Nubian, Toggenburg and British Alpine Dairy Goats;  Dorper, Suffolk, Poll Dorset, Texel, Australian White, Awassi and Damara sheep; alpacas, donkeys and miniature ponies.
