Huacaya are the most common breed of alpacas in Australia. Alpacas are sought for their high quality fleece and their natural tendency to protect other livestock from predators.
They grow a soft ,fluffy, high quality fleece of fibre. They are generally shorn once each year and will cut a fleece of between 0.5 – 4kg.
